2011 Fall and Winter Fashions for Women and Men

Don’t kid yourself; for women, skinny jeans ARE still in. Fall and winter fashions allow for the classic dresser, mod, what they are now calling “long tail” (which are duster coats and long dresses), chic and a handful more, There are so many recycled looks that are still in style you will be glad you haven’t thrown out anything and that you can still borrow clothes and accessories from your mother’s closet. Winter white is always a classic. 70′s fashion is still a huge trend. Fur clothing (fake we hope), wide leg trousers, maxi dresses, leather accessories, chokers, and pleated skirts and dresses are a huge hit. Classic hair styles like afros, short boyish cuts, 70′s braided hair, and straight and flowing hair still catch the eye of that special guy for you gals. In makeup, white liner is in. Gray, gold and chocolate shadow are also in the new fall line up. Peach blush, dark raspberry lipstick or even bright red lipstick (be sure to wear lip gloss) and blue eyeliners are a potential hit. Try them well ahead of time to make sure that this matches well with your complexion!

Men’s fashion does not change as much as women’s but nice stone wash jeans and polo’s are still in. Blazers are popular as well as bomber and flight leather jackets are very sharp. Black and white are still the most popular colors for men’s clothing. Layering is another great option that looks great. Tee shirts and nice slacks are still in. Velvet for men still is fashionable. The 40′s and 50′s style ”military” look is a striking comeback trend. Anything for men showing off a slim waist and broad shoulders is a hit for 2011.

Men’s hair fashion has not changed much for 2011. Much like hair fashion for women, they won’t always achieve what they are going for but hopefully with the help of a stylist they will find the perfect cut for their face and overall appearance. Since many men have curly or wavy hair (for which many women are very envious), a medium length hair style is much more manageable. Even if it is moderately curly at shoulder length, it is handsome hair style.

Because of the economy there is not a big change in fashion but we can almost always find something in our closet with just a few added pieces and accessories so we can look modern and chic. Always look for the big bang for your buck. The economy is teaching us a lesson; how to be economically fashionable. It is not impossible. It just takes a little bit of creativity. That is all on the fashion front. Hope we have been helpful and you have enjoyed our thoughts. Wishing you a fashionable fall and winter.
