Basil Baby Carrots, Baby Carrot Recipe, How to cook Baby Carrots

BASIL BABY CARROTS

I went to a friend’s house for dinner a number of years ago and they made these carrots and they were so delicious, and my young kids at the

time just loved them and gobbled them up. They’re super easy to make, and absolutely delicious. And you know they’re a winner when you can get

your kids to love their veggies!
I serve these carrots often at my house, but always at holidays with our Christmas Prime Rib or our Easter Cranberry-Burgundy Glazed Ham.

Enjoy!
2 lbs. baby carrots
water
2 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 tsp. dried basil flakes
Place baby carrots in a medium sized saucepan and cover with water. Cook on medium heat until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain water and add

Labor Day

Labor Day a United States Federal Holiday that we observe on the first Monday of September. We started observing this most precious day in 1894 when by the hands of the U.S. Military and the U.S. Marshall’ s the death of many workers were killed. Labor Day was then rushed through Congress and signed into law within six days after the end of the Pullman Strike.
We celebrate Labor Day with parades that show strength for trade and labor organizations. Speeches with an emphasis on our economic and civil  situation the topic we want to hear.

Labor Unions in the U.S. represent the workers of unions among public sectors. Teachers and police are two of the major unions. Unions in the private sector have fallen drastically. It is also celebrated as the end of summer.

Fall and Winter Fashions 2011 for Women and Men

For women skinny jeans are still in as far as I know. Are you a classic dresser, mod, what they are now calling “long tail” which are duster coats and long dresses, chic which there are many descriptions, anyway there are so many new and old looks that are still in style you will be happy not to throw out anything or borrow from your mother’s closet. Winter white is always a classic.  70′s fashion are a huge trend. Fur clothing (fake we hope), wide leg trousers, maxi dresses, leather accessories, chokers, and pleated skirts and dresses are a huge hit. Classic hair styles, Afro, short boyish cuts, that 70′s braided hair, and straight and flowing hair still catch the eye of that certain guy in your life. In makeup white liner is in, gray shadows, gold and chocolate shadow also are in the new fall line up, peach blush , dark raspberry lipstick or even bright red (be sure to wear lip gloss)  and blue eyeliners. Try them well ahead of time to make sure that this matches well with your complexion.

Men’s fashion does not change as much as women’s but nice stone wash jeans and polo’s are still in. Blazers are popular and bomber and flight leather jackets especially are looked upon as “sharp”. Black and white are still the most popular colors for men’s clothing. Layering is another great option that looks great. Tee shirts and nice slacks are still in. Velvet for men still are fashionable. Military (40′s & 50′s style) are a striking trend. Anything for men with slim waist, slim trousers and broad shoulder look is a hit for 2011.

Men’s hair fashion has not changed much for 2011 I guess it is what they are going for like women they not always achieve what they are going for but hopefully with the help of a stylist will find the perfect cut for their face and overall appearance. Handsome, cute or sexy and women the same beautiful, cute or sexy is what we are looking for in our look. Since many men have curly hair (for which many women are very envious) a medium length is much more manageable even if it is moderately curly at shoulder length it is handsome hair style.

Because of the economy there is not a big change in fashion but what there is we can almost always find in in our closet with just a few added pieces so we can look updated and chic. Always look for the big bang for your buck but fashionable the economy is teaching us a lesson let’s listen. Well, that is all on the fashion front. Hope we have been helpful and you have enjoyed our thoughts. Wishing you a great fashion fall and winter.
