Visiting Maine this summer and looking to purchase a Bed and Breakfast Inn? We have several we would love to recommend. One is the lovely Riverside Inn and Restaurant in East Machias, Maine on Rt 1 A (the Coastal Highway), not far from Calais and Canada. Cozy, comfortable and beautifully decorated rooms that are reasonably priced. Breakfast is freshly prepared each morning and we have been told that they offer absolutely delicious dining. Dinner selections include local lobster, scallops, shrimp, salmon and trout. Chicken, beef, lamb and pork are also on the menu. Fine dining by Chef Rocky and Ellen. Cooking classes at Riverside Inn and Restaurant with Chef Rocky Rocky are held February through early May on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5pm to – 8 pm and include a variety of cooking styles which will prove to be an evening of gourmet creations. Owners quarters are on the premises. There is also handicap access. The property has beautiful spacious grounds and gardens. The restaurant is fully equipped. This is a well maintained property. Tips for Selling a Bed and Breakfast Inn, Cottage, Cabins and Potential B&B/Inns

This subject is sometimes difficult to explain to “FSBO” (for sale by owner) or your realtor but is important to discuss when selling your property. Spending money purchasing ad space on any of the many domains that choose to advertise properties is important to the sale of your Bed and Breakfast Inn.

In setting up your ad it is a major issue to first to make sure you have professional photo’s as this is what your potential buyer is going to look at first, next is the price, then the description and next is the links to your domain web site or the realtors ad.

If your web site is not up to date say in the past three years. You need help. The presentation is part of what your potential buyer is purchasing and also goes with  your property and the domain will need to be transferred to the new owner. If you have had your web site for three years but have not changed text you need to do right away. The search engines will by now ignoring old information.

You may be interested in historical museums, theatre, art galleries, antiquing, shopping and fine dining all recommended by a hospitality plus innkeeper. Many Bed and Breakfast Inns offer dining, lunch, afternoon teas, gourmet dinners. You do not need to drive several hundred miles there may be one within just a few miles of your home. If your children are younger there are many Bed and Breakfast Inns that love to include children and have accommodation conveniet for younger children and teen. Some even have babysitters.  Playgrounds, pools and many other things to keep them occupied while “daddy” is resting and relaxing on his special day.
