California Romantic Vacation and Getaway Ideas
A California Vacation will put a smile on almost anyone face. There is just so much to see and do from San Diego’s (south) to the famous San Diego Zoo to Crescent City in the north. San Diego has perfect beaches of white sand, three beautiful old Spanish missions and over 90 golf courses, and so many Special Events you will want to attend them all. Look no further when you need to stop and relax and sleep. With affordable bed and breakfast in the area , luxurious inns with spas you will look forward to tomorrow’s family friendly events. We must not forget the exciting nightlife in San Diego that is a must. We decided to stay a week in the Los Angeles area and take at least a day or two in Palm Springs.
We all discussed becoming “Movie Stars” and living in Hollywood and shopping on Rodeo Drive. Did you know that Los Angeles is the largest USA city. Thank goodness I am not driving but we’re off to Palm Springs and the 109 emerald green golf courses. This the playground of the stars. We stopped at the beautiful little town of Idyllwild for lunch. Palm Springs has the best fine dining restaurants, Art galleries , boutiques and so much more in California. I am really happy we made this a priority visit.
Two days later we decided to head to Big Bear Lake in the San Bernardino National Forest area only 100 miles north east of Los Angeles. Much different than San Diego beautiful blue lakes and from talking to the folks in the area this is a four season town, warm summers, cool fall, snowy winters and beautiful spring time. We found a beautiful luxury Bed and Breakfast and our two night stay was terrific.
Now the decision was to drive up the coast to Santa Barbara where we have friends who own a bed and breakfast inn. Santa Barbara is another of California’s perfect romantic coastal cities with luxury accommodation, golf close by, numerous shops within walking distance or a quick 10 minutes to the city. Romance is in the air here. Just walk holding hands and enjoy it all. The temperature all year round is in the 70′s..what more could you ask for. The spa was incredible. Make sure you choose Santa Barbara as one of your destinations when you visit California.
San Francisco was our next stop we decided on a 4 day stop over her because we also wanted to take at least full two days in Carmel. Our stay in San Francisco was wonderful, thanks to the innkeepers attention to detail, the most comfortable bed and fresh flowers in our room. The courtyard was lush and beautiful. The Spa treatment was superb. After two day of shopping and eating at incredible restaurants in San Francisco we were on our way to Carmel. The charming little city is just steps from white sandy beaches and so close to beautiful California Wine Country. Make sure you have your camera it is a beautiful little town. I lost my camera case here so I know I will return some day. Time to finish our California Getaway. The town of Eureka would be our last two day. We had been given a Gift Certificate for a bed and breakfast in Eureka and were so happy with everything. The room was elegant, we arrived in the afternoon and afternoon tea was available and a walk through the Victorian Garden was just beautiful.
Our California vacation was not long enough and we want to visit again and again. You encourage you to visit soon.
