Make a pan of Rice Krispie Treats just like it say on the box

Chex Mix for Halloween

• 1 cup candy corn
• 1/2 cup raisins
• 1-8 oz of white chocolate bar all chopped up
• 2 cups pretzels
• 4 & 1/2 cups of Corn Chex Mix
• 1/2 cup of orange & black candy corn

You will have to microwave in a large bowl for about a minute and a half and stir about every 30 seconds. Spread on wax paper until white chocolate is cool. Put back in bowl.

Enjoy.

Fruit Jewels

• 1 – 12 oz bag frozen raspberries. Thaw them out.
• 1 & 1/2 cup sugar ( add another tablespoon or two if you want it a little sweeter
• 2 tablespoon of Sure-Jell
• 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
• Coat a 5 X 9 bread pan with butter and put in heavy plastic wrap.mix the fruit pectin with 2 tablespoons sugar.

1. Warm the raspberry on medium heat they will come to a simmer.Stir or whisk in the pectin now bring to a boil keep stirring. Add sugar stirring constantly until it boils again. Now add the second 1/2 cup sugar stirring constantly until it boils again Now add corn syrup and boil again for about 10 or 11 minutes. Stir in the lemon juice. Now let the mixture cool not cold cool. Put in the pan you have the heavy plastic in and let it sit over night or at least 12 hours. It will be firm.
2. After 12 hours put the candy on a cutting board and cut into 3/4 by 3/4 inches and put into a bowl with regular sugar. Shake it around they will look like jewels.
3. Chipotle Pop Corn

1/2 cup unpopped corn kernels in pop corn popper with vegetable oil about 1/4 cup add 1/4 cup sugar a 1 teaspoon chipotle powder 1 teaspoon salt.

Put the the oil, chipotle powder and salt, sugar pop corninto popper. When done put popcorn in a large bowl. Enjoy!

• 5 apples

Sweet Potato Pancakes

Ingredients:

• 1 cup flour
• 1/8 tsp baking soda
• 2 tbs sugar
• 1/4 tsp cinnamon
• 1/8 tsp ginger
• 1/8 tsp nutmeg
• 1 egg beaten
• 1 1/4 cup milk
• 2 tbs butter flavor crisco melted
• 1/2 cup cooked (boiled or baked)  mashed sweet potato

Directions:

1. add flour, baking soda, sugar and spices in a large mixing bowl.
2. stir egg, shortening, mashed sweet potato & milk in another mixing bowl.
3. add egg mixture to flour, baking soda, sugar & spices, now stir until smooth.
4. Add to hot lightly greased griddle, when the sides of the batter start to bubble turn once until cooked. Watch closely.
5. Place on warm plate and serve hot with warm melted butter and warm syrup

Serve with the juice, coffee or tea of your choice…You will enjoy.

Walnut Pumpkin Oatmeal

Ingredients:

• 2 cups oat meal the quick cooking kind is best
• 1 cup pumpkin canned or fresh
• 1 8-ounce vanilla yogurt
• 1/3 cup soft brown sugar,
• 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
• 3 cups water
• 3 tablespoons coarsely chopped walnuts
• 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Bring water in saucepan to a boil with the pumpkin pie spice and salt, stir in oat meal. Bring to a second boil and reduce heat to medium. Cooking 1 minute until most of liquid is absorbed and keep stirring occasionally. Now add pumpkin and brown sugar, cooking one minute. Let stand until desired consistency. Spoon oatmeal into four cereal bowls. Top with yogurt and walnuts.

Really Quick Halloween Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

• 2 cups milk
• 2 cups OJ
• 2 pints orange sherbet
• 4 ripe bananas
• 2 cups whipped cream

Directions:

Blend milk, orange juice milk, orange sherbert and bananas   until very smooth. Pour into fancy glass. Add teaspoon of of whipped cream to the top.

1. pre heat oven  to 350 degrees
2. Lay several half English Muffins on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Put a slice of American Cheese on top of each one
3. slice olives with pimentos for eyes, add just pimento for red nose and slice pickle for mouth
4. Bake for about 3- 5 minutes until cheese melts and English Muffin warm

Serve with Orange Juice and fruit.

Here are some things you will need before you start:

1. A pumpkin
2. A sharp knife
3. A large spoon
4. A black marker
5. A candle

Step 1. Pick a Pumpkin

No, you don’t have to literally pick a pumpkin (although, you can if you want to), but you will have to go out and buy one. Most grocery stores and home and garden stores begin to sell pumpkins once Halloween starts approaching, so it shouldn’t be hard to find one. Typically when shopping for a good jack-o’ lantern, bigger is better.

Step 2. Clean Out the Pumpkin

Before you can start carving out your face or design, you need to get all the guts and goo out of the pumpkin. Carve a circle around the stem of the pumpkin and then remove it. Then take a large spoon and begin to scoop out the seeds and pulp. You want to make sure you leave only the outer rind of the pumpkin and completely remove the rest of the insides, as the seeds and pulp will rot rather quickly.

Step 3. Draw Your Pattern

This is the really fun part. Get out your black magic marker and draw the pattern you’re going to carve out on the surface of the pumpkin.

Step 4. Carve Out Your Pattern

Take a very sharp knife and carve out your pattern.

Step 5. Light it Up.

Place a candle inside the pumpkin and place the lid back on.

Additional Tips:

• Save the seeds from the inside of the pumpkin and salt and roast them on a pan in the oven for a delicious snack.
• If you are bad at drawing, you can try tracing your pattern on a flat piece of paper first or using a stencil.
• You can use petroleum jelly to preserve the edges of the pumpkin from rotting.

Orange Popcorn For Your Little Goblins

Ingredients:

• 4 quarts popped popcorn
• 1/2 cup butter, cubed
• 1 cup sugar
• 6 tablespoons light corn syrup
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 12 drops yellow food coloring
• 4 drops red food coloring

Directions:

Put the popped popcorn in a very large bowl. Use a small saucepan and melt the half cup of butter  .
Add a cup of sugar, and the a third cup corn syrup. Stir  mixture until it comes to a boil. Medium heat recommended. Reduce heat to low; cook about 5 minutes longer, and keep stirring    Take off the heat. Add the teaspoon of vanilla. With an eye dropper add the yellow & red food coloring. Pour over popcorn. Toss the popcorn Put in large cake pan that you have sprayed with cooking spray.

Put in oven at about 250° Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, stir about every 10 minutes. When you take it out pour it on to waxed paper to cool.Put airtight containers. This should be about 4 quarts. Not only will the kids love it you will too.

Swamp Punch

Ingredients:

• 30 assorted gummy worms (not the sour variety)
• 1  package artificially flavored orange unsweetened soft drink concentrate, prepared according to package directions.
• 1  (2-liter) bottle lemon lime soda
• 1  (46-ounce) can pineapple juice
• 1  (0.13-ounce) package artificially flavored lemon-lime unsweetened soft drink concentrate
• Gummy worms, gummy fish, gummy alligators, etc., if desired

Directions:

Press about 20 gummy worms into bottom of 12-cup Bundt® or tube pan. Pour 6 cups prepared orange-flavored drink mix over gummy worms in pan. Cover; freeze until frozen (at least 24 hours).

At serving time, place soda, pineapple juice and lemon lime drink mix into punch bowl. Stir to mix. Run bottom of Bundt® pan under warm water to release ice ring. Place ice ring in punch bowl.

Garnish with gummy worms and other gummy candies, if desired.

*Substitute 6 cups of any prepared non-carbonated orange drink.

Recipe Tip
If you don’t have a round pan to form the ice ring, you can make wormy ice cubes. Place a gummy worm in each ice cube tray cup and fill with orange drink mix.

Recipe Tip
Large plastic punch bowls are available at party supply stores. Make sure the top opening is at least 11 inches so that the ice ring will fit.

Halloween Chili

Ingredients:

• 1 1/4 Pounds ground goblin gizzards (ground beef 15% fat)
• 1 Medium eye of Cyclops (onion)
• 1 15 Oz. Can soft shelled beetles (kidney beans)
• 1 28 Oz. Can blood of bat (V-8 juice)
• 1/8 Teaspoon pureed wasp (prepared mustard)
• 1/4 Teaspoon common dried weed (oregano)
• 1 Dash Redtailed hawk toenails (crushed red pepper)
• 2 Teaspoons ground sumac blossom (chili powder)
• 1 Teaspoon hemlock (honey or sugar)
• 1/2 Cup fresh grubs (sliced celery)
• 1 Tablespoon eye of Newt (pearled barley)
• 1 Tablespoon dried maggots (uncooked rice)
• Water from a stagnant pond (tap water)

Directions:

Brown the gizzards in an iron cauldron over a fire made from the siding off of a haunted house, add chopped eye of Cyclops and simmer until the pieces of eye become translucent again, add blood of bat, and soft shelled beetles, bring to a slow bubbling boil.

At this time, add the common weed, maggots, toenails, sumac, grubs, hemlock, eye of newt and the pureed wasp. As
it cooks you may want to adjust the consistency with pond water. You can tell it is done when the eye of newt swells and the vertical tan colored ‘cats eye’ appears on one side

Spooky Baked Apples

Ingredients:

• 1/4 cup butter
• 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
• 1/4 cup brown sugar
• 1/4 cup dried cranberries
• 1/4 cup chopped dried apricots
• 1/4 cup teaspoon ground cardamom
• 4 large apples

Directions:

Fill the hallowed apple with ingredients and place into 8-inch baking dish. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes Uncover, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes. After baking pour pan juices over apples for added flavor.

Eyeball Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

• 1 package of cake mix (chocolate)
• 5 soft chocolate fudge cookies
• 1 can of butter cream  frosting
• bottle of Maraschino cherries

Directions:

Fallow cake baking instructions and pour into into 10 inch round baking dish. place eyeball cherries as desired.

Bow Wow Biscuits

Ingredients:

• 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
• 1/2 cup wheat germ
• 1/2 cup powdered milk
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
• 8 tablespoons bacon grease — or margarine
• 1 egg — beaten
• 1 teaspoon brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons beef broth — or chicken
• 1/2 cup ice water
• 6 slices Bacon — crumbled, optional
• 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded — optional

Directions:

In a big mixing bowl, mix all the ingredients thoroughly to form a dough. Roll the dough out with a rolling pin and use a cookie cutter to make shapes for cookies, Bake cookies at 350 degrees for 20 – 25 min.

The Winchester House

Located in San Jose, California was built in 1884 by Sarah Winchester, wife of renowned gun maker William Winchester. The Winchester House is believed  to be haunted by the ghost of the falling victims killed by Winchester Riffles. Construction of the house went on continuously till her death in 1922,  with doors and rooms leading to nowhere in attempts to confuse the ill-tempered spirits.

The Congelier House

One of the most notorious homes in Pittsburgh, The Congelier House is the site of several murders. The first in 1871 after a jealous wife stabs her husband and decapitates the head of his mistress. The second and much more gruesome happened in 1901 when the property was purchased by a Doctor by the name of Adolph C. Brunrichter was found to have a murdered women found in his bed and 5 headless women in his basement.  Years later The Congelier House became a favorite working place for Thomas Edison where it is said that he was developing a machine to speak with the dead.

Myrtles Plantation

Located near Baton Rouge, Louisiana and built in the mid 1790′s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Myrtles Plantation is surrounded by several haunting stories, and as many as a dozen ghost are said to take residents on the property. The most famous maybe the story of a slave girl named Chole who was said to be the mistress of the Plantations owner Clark Woodruff. As the legend goes, Chole attempted to posion Clark Woodruff  by baking him a cake with extract from Oleander leaves in it but the cake was only eaten by his wife and two daughters who subsequently died.  Chole was later hung from a tree by the other slaves.

The White House

Did you know that our White House in Washington DC is haunted! Yes! The most often see is Abraham Lincoln and by some very reputable folks. Overnight guests of the White House have seen Mr. Lincoln near his bedroom (the room everyone wants to sleep in and is known as the the Lincoln room) and Mr. Lincoln is probably upset that they are spending the night in his room. After all a person bedroom is very private. The staff have often opened the door to Lincoln’s room and seen Lincoln sitting on the side of the bed.  Others have seen him in the Oval Office and other times he has often tapped people on the shoulder.

Willie Lincoln, President Lincoln’s beloved son passed away in the White House and the two have been seen walking together. Another strange story that circulates is one of a black cat walking around the White House in 1929 just be for the Stock Market crash and again before President Kennedy’s assassination report it as a warning of another bad thing to happen. Even psychic’s and astrologer’s  have been to the White House to investigate these stories. What do you think? Do you believe in ghosts.

Alcatraz

The perfect place to be haunted in my mind would be Alcatraz. There are some pretty scary men who have lived looking out over foggy San Francisco. Being robbed of their sanity day after day what little they had left after being convicted and sentenced to this barren island with the swift currents keeping these men from San Francisco. It was a prison from 1861 to 1963 going through many transitions and prisoners. It was not a place to rehabilitate it was a place of real punishment. Escapes were part of the prison life and so was death. Many lived their lives totally insane. Some of the famous prisoners were Capone, Machine Gun Kelly, the Bird Man of Alcatraz (Robert Stoud), Joe Bower who slit his own throat with his broken eyeglasses, Ed Wutke another of many who killed himself.

The guards were known to do cruel and unusual punishment on the prisoners. There was 14 attempted escapes with 34 men involved and only one was known to make it to San Francisco his name was John Paul Scott but he was caught near the Golden Gate Bridge and punished accordingly.

Now that you know the facts and how awful it was even though these men were no saints the ghostly haunting come into this little story. Stories now are told about “holes” that forgotten inmates were left are still so cold you cannot imagine anyone being in there Cell 14D is one of those. Continual cries in corridors, the sounds men screaming in the nights. These traumatic experiences still haunt Alcatraz. Crying in the caverns beneath the prison still can be heard. Ghost Hunter, crime writers, and just plain folks wanting to visit this place with terrifying history say they come away with a cold and strange feeling that the ghost of Alcatraz really do exist.
