About Smith House Bed & Breakfast
The Smith House was built in 1921 as a boarding house for J.Frank and Minnie Smith. For many years, the Inn was the cultural and entertainment center for the surrounding community. Some of the early history of the South Plains evolved on it's premises. The Smith House has always stood as a monument of it's rich and colorful heritage. The Inn has been restored using most of the original furniture and accessories. Then further updated, emphasizing style and comfort. The Inn is under the new ownership of Sue Bentley and Sande Smyth and will enter a new era, without losing any of its charms, dignity and top class service.
Smith House is now serving excellent meals - American and Australian content - and is noted for the 'disgusting' desserts (disgusting is slang for fantastic!!!). Sue and Sande have also converted the private lounge into a beautiful shop that sells Australian Organic products, handcrafted knits and crocheted garments, exquisite modern jewellery and Australian Print T-shirts. Our guests enjoy spending time, experiencing the enticing natural perfumes of the products and perusing the other items for sale.
