Flagstaff in Northern Arizona is home to the Grand Canyon, ancient Indian ruins, Mount Humphreys, the states highest mountain, and the best hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing in Arizona. The Abineau Lodge Bed and Breakfast was built in 1997 to fit the Flagstaff mountain lifestyle. Offering guests a comfortable retreat or active vacation the Lodge is minutes from historic Flagstaff where guests find plenty of shopping, art galleries, restaurants and micro breweries. The Lodge borders Coconino National Forest and thousands of acres of ponderosa pines with hiking, biking, horseback riding and ATV trails right from the property.

Bed and Breakfast guests find numerous things to do in Flagstaff including stargazing at the Lowell Observatory, visiting Meteor Crater, skiing at Snowbowl or the Flagstaff Nordic Center, hiking Arizona's high point, walking through ancient ruins at Wupatki and Walnut Canyon National Monuments, touring the Grand Canyon, attending a play, movie or symphony in Flagstaff, walking the grounds of the Arboretum, and visiting the Northern Arizona University campus.

The Abineau Lodge features an intimate on-site restaurant with a menu that changes daily, wine and beer license and gift shop stocked with local and Arizona gifts and souvenirs, and full, home cooked breakfasts. The Lodge offers two pet friendly options-one dog friendly room for small pets and an inside kennel for larger ones. Children 8 and over are welcome in our family suite.

Wedding packages, including on-site catering, honeymoons, romance packages and a "rent the Lodge" option are all available. Gift certificates can be purchased on line. Recipe: Hopi Blue Corn Pancakes


  • Blue corn meal 1 7/8 C
  • Flour, unsifted ?Ǭæ C
  • Baking Powder 2 Tbs
  • Salt ?Ǭ? tsp
  • Sugar 2 Tbs
  • Butter, melted 4 Tbs
  • Eggs 4
  • Milk 2 C
Mix all dry ingredients together. In separate bowl, beat eggs and milk, slightly, add melted butter. Add liquid ingredients to dry and mix until almost lump free. Do not over mix. Let stand at least 15 minutes before cooking. Cook on griddle heated to 325 degrees. Overcooking will dry them out.
