About Alpenhorn Bed and Breakfast
The Alpenhorn is the only AAA Four Diamond lodging establishment in the County. Situated on two exquisitely landscaped acres between Big Bear Village and Snow Summit Ski Area, the inn has eight suites. All have fireplaces, televisions and VCRs, spa robes, phones, feather beds, private balconies, and private bathrooms with tiled showers and eight-jet spa tubs for two. Breakfast consists of fresh breads, seasonal fruit, homemade granola, house-blend coffee, oatmeal banana brulee, and an entree such as coddled eggs or apple pancakes. Beverages and freshly baked goodies are available throughout the day. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres are served with a variety wines and beers in the early evening, and later, an after-dinner bar is set-up offering a variety of liqueurs, chocolates, mixed nuts, and our homemade cookies. The inn provides indoor as well as outdoor storage for bicycles and skis.

Recipe: Ham, Cheese and Green Peppercore Pate
- 2 teaspoons green peppercorns
- 8 ounces smoked ham, cut into cubes
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese, (about 4 ounces)
- quarter cup parsley leaves
- half cup mayonnaise
- quarter cup sour cream
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
In a food processor with metal blade, process green peppercorns until minced. Add ham, Swiss cheese, and parsley; process until coarsely chopped. Add mayonnaise, sour cream, and mustard. Mix until well blended. Place in crock. Refrigerate covered with plastic wrap for at least 4 hours for flavors to blend. May be refrigerated for 3 days.
