About Inn at Bay Ledge "The Eden of New England"

Atop an 80 foot cliff, amidst towering pines and overlooking Frenchman Bay, sits the Inn at Bay Ledge. Literally clinging to the cliffs of Mount Desert Island with 79 steps to our private Maine stone beach is one of the most breathtaking panoramas that you will ever experience. Our guests understand why we are locally referred to as the Eden of New England.

All guest rooms have king or queen four-poster or canopy beds. Designer linens, down comforters and feather beds are used in all rooms. All rooms have private baths; some with whirlpools. Views from our second floor rooms are enhanced by private decks overlooking Frenchman Bay and the distant mountains of Acadia National Park beyond. First floor rooms have the same spectacular views through picture windows. The garden room is an economical alternative with a queen bed, private deck with awning and a view of the pine grove.

We bake fresh breads, pastries or muffins every morning. Sauces, fresh fruit and homemade granola (as featured in Yankee magazine) are served each morning. Afternoon Tea is served at 5:00 p.m. in the sunroom. Enjoy a variety of teas along with a special treat. Maple nut cookies are a special favorite. On warm summer afternoons, enjoy slushed lemonade. On brisk fall afternoons, hot cider and pumpkin bread are always a hit.
